1979- 81 Trans Am
The year 1979 marked the fourth redesign of Pontiac's second generation F-body platform.
Building on the success of the highly regarded 1977-78 Trans Am models, this version retained the same fenders and doors but introduced a redesigned rear end featuring a fuel door located beneath the fold-out center of the tail lamps. The front end was updated with new grills positioned below the headlamps.
The refreshed Firebird Trans Am featured distinctive shark-flared grills, full-length tail lamps, and new side flares. Its front and rear side spoiler designs distinguished it clearly from both the previous model and its competitors.
