This is the "problem solver" USA made lower ball joint which is just a bit bigger for swollen or very worn out lower ball joint holes in this type of control arm that is pressed in, and after 30 years they are often just a little worn so use this...!

   OD on these is 53mm - typically about 1.5mm larger in dia then a standard lower ball joint.

  These slotted edge ball joints are widely recognized as the most effective solution for tightening loose lower ball joint holes in this style of lower control arm, short of more extreme measures like welding. Designed to fit the lower control arm on 1973-87 El Camino, 1973 Chevelle, and several other models listed below, they specifically address the faster wear typically seen in lower front ball joints. Made and imported from the USA, these greaseable joints require regular lubrication to maintain optimal performance.

Two used per car  or as needed.. otherwise the normal ones are good quality.
