Compressor AC Seal: 75-99 era Main Front Reseal Kit

Contaminants in a recharged car AC system can cause the front seal to fail, whether from particles left in old lines or faulty high or low-pressure inline AC switches. This pressure buildup leads to compressor leaks at the front, but it does not necessarily indicate that the compressor itself requires replacement.

Often, people attempt to resolve this issue by simply regassing, replacing the compressor, abandoning the repair, or pursuing a warranty claim if the unit is new. However, the root cause usually lies elsewhere within one of the approximately 15 areas involved in AC service and procedures. The compressor is typically the primary leak point, where pressure and oil tend to escape before other components.

This is a upgraded FRONT SEAL  known as a LIP SEAL.. for the front shaft of era's of GM compressors along with the clip and a fitting guide....shown below, includes the snap ring and fitting tool.

Service Tip your qualified repairer will know... Once filled with oil, place or hold the new A/C Compressor with the front seal facing down for 1-3 minutes. This will help coat the seal with oil - if this seal is not lubricated before installation, refrigerant may leak.
