Steering Box 55-57 Chev Power Steering upgrade (LHD)
This is a brand new 500 series upgrade Power Steering Box from the original manual and or power steering box fitted to the 55-57 range.. its mounting is the same for LHD cars. It takes a few different parts to finish, one being a 30 spline coupling available separately and the Power steering hoses - available separately .. IF.. IF.. you are setting up the car with typical GM Power Steering Pump. Check "DESCRIPTION" box on left for more detail on accessory parts.
Hose sizes both inverted flare types: Pressure 7/16" pipe & thread is 11/16-19" flare, the return pipe is a bit smaller as normal 3/8" tube - with 5/8"-18" Flare. Often people will need this detail to make them or compare to what they may already have from the donor engine etc.
This box is regarded as like having smooth operating power Rack & Pinion, but still uses the factory pitman arm helping to make the upgrade less of a headache. But ONLY for LHS cars.
