  • Image is correct.  Plastic body could be WHITE OR BLUE

This is located on the steering column inside the car down near the brake pedal - used on most all GM steering columns.. when you turn the ignition LOCK.. it triggers a rod further down the column making an electrical contact allowing current to flow.

This is for TILT COLUMNS ONLY. . if yours is a manual car or NON-tilt column do not buy this switch..unless its identical to the correct image here.

  • NOTE: If your changing the Switch or lock because its sticking.. and your car is a 70-81 Firebird TA or Camaro .. IN R H D converted form.. .. or your having trouble turning the ignition lock to the point where its jamming.. on your Right Hand Drive Car.. .. CHECK FIRST.. the small lever at the base of your steering column . under the power booster.. that rod coming out of the column with an eyelet on it is originally a safety feature to prevent it being started in anything but PARK.. sometimes this lever if NOT wired up or pushed around to its UN-engaged position & will slip into the lock position and prevent the cars ignition switch from turning... Just something to keep in mind.
