About Us

Since 1989, we've been supplying American car parts and restoration services as Ponti-World Australia. Over that time, we've grown from selling via a paper 2-page catalog to now selling over 11,000 specialised US GM parts online, while still operating as a family-run business.

We started in a spare bedroom, out the back of our Blue Mountains home in late 1989. With our first child, Blake, born that year, we quickly moved to take over a large garage. We turned a garden shed into an office, then when we out-grew that, moved onto renting an old small bakery building in the town of Wentworth Falls, west of Sydney. Two more kids came along and we moved down south to the Illawarra, to raise the kids and get a better warehouse and more garage space. Dave, who is the guy you probably know as the phone and email answerer- would take regular trips to America, to search wrecking yards for specific parts.

In 2024, the kids are all grown up, moved out, doing what they love and we're onto our 4th and largest warehouse in Albion Park Rail. Our son, Blake, works with us daily to pick and pack your parts, while Margaret, Dave's wife, looks after the accounts, staff and caffeine supply. Dave is the specialist who you speak to when you call Ponti-World, whose knowledge on classic American cars is hard to replicate - which is why the phone lines are often busy!
