Lock Ignition: 69-early 78 w/ keys
Reviews

This is a replacement chrome finger/thumb turning ignition lock and key for the 69-early 78 Most all GM cars.

Please do not confuse the ignition lock & key set with the ignition electrical switch set which on a 1969 to early '78 era GM vehicles is normally located further down the steering colomn next to the brake/ clutch pedal.

(Lock shown for illustration purposes... )

  • They are seperate items.
  • This lock is IN the Steering Column not on the dash.... and fits 1969 & newer models to early 78.
  • NOTE:   We try to provide ... exact images where possible and this is an exact image of the lock itself.
  • To help you change the lock.. you will need the key to the lock IN the car to do this.. if you have lost or don't have the key.. they see a locksmith.
  • Here is the basic's changing a ignition lock.. Place the lock cylinder in LOCK (up to 1970) or RUN (1971-81 models). Insert a small prytool into the turn signal housing slot. Keeping the prytool to the right side of the slot, break the housing flash loose and depress the spring latch at the lower end of the lock cylinder. Remove the lock cylinder.
