Distributor Module: 80 Turbo TA (only)

SKU: PW11780

This distributor module is specifically designed for the 1980 Turbo 301 Pontiac Trans Am, the only model year with this setup. It differs from the 1981 factory versions, which introduced computerized systems with ECMs, marking a significant change in ignition technology. This product caters exclusively to the unique requirements of the 1980 model.

Important Reminder: This part is exclusively for the 1980 Turbo Trans Am. Exercise extreme caution when selecting electronic ignition components, as seemingly identical parts—such as coils differing only in wire color—and modules can have vastly different specifications. With genuine parts becoming increasingly scarce worldwide, we strive to offer the best quality at reasonable prices, often providing both genuine and reliable aftermarket options. When sourcing these components, it’s crucial to invest in quality from the start to avoid repeated replacements. Choose wisely for lasting performance.

Yes they're expensive.. but being a ONE year only part.. I accept the reasons behind it.. the current USA GM list is around US$150  IF. IF you can genuinely find a new GM one.... so do your sums against a tow truck...

If your lucky enough to own one of these.. its a REAL REAL good idea to have a spare module in the console box everywhere you go as like any module in the HEI series & beyond.. they fail you walk.. or get towed.. there is no way to sort across them or hit'm with a mallet - you just stop.
