IF YOU HAVE A 82-86 era  Camaro or Firebird TA with rear disc brakes . and a  CROOK HANDBRAKE .. READ and act simply on this.       This is a GM Tech kit.. it came out in the early 90's as I recall..  back then not a recall required but probably should have been.. it's  in answer to the "USELESS BLOODY HANDBRAKE SYNDROME... " or "Emergency Brake" on the DISC BRAKE REAR ENDED 1982-86 Firebird, Camaro & Trans Ams.     The kit is a rear disc rebuild kit and takes in all the required parts to overhaul BOTH rear callipers.. its actually about 1/3rd the price of the parts individually.    Briefly the kit will give you two new calliper seal kits, springs, washers, retainer & two brand new pistons.. (which are the cause of the problem to start with.) Don't go down the road of some magical handbrake cable adjustment or new rotors etc etc.. trust whoever.. but you now know more then most about this subject.  Simply if your handbrake will not skid you..or if it can pull the lever up around 75 degrees or more.. this is the problem effect.. Order a set of new pads if you need them.. or just so you have it all done at the same time.  …

Proportioning valves are generally between the master cylinder  & the corridor of your brake lines.. designed to intercept & proportion.. fluid pressure best for what is on the front or rear of a cars braking system. Its an engineered part when set up by the car manufacturers. There is a number of "adjustable" proportioning valves too listed here.. that may help on factory co-ordination of front and rear to prevent lock up etc.  Consult a brake expert. Make sure  you use a PVtool shown here when bleeding a New factory replacement PV.. its not the same as local cars..  you will stuff if up if you don't do it right the VERY FIRST TIME.....its not a toy.. do it right.    …

As an additional guide.. this might help people over time.... DONT JUST BLAME A PART Don't have time to read this below ??.. but have a suspected booster issue.. then at LEAST read this link to the USA suppliers MBMbrakes who supply this stuff all day every day...https://mbmbrakes.com/brake-booster-diagnostics/ Again.. its crook when your car will not start..but deadly when it does not stop.. seek proffessional help with brake work. Be aware your changing the factory Specified Brakes.. ones  the car came with.. or that you think it did unless you owned it from the start or absolutely know its history etc.  There can be legal complications in some states to do this. Check if in doubt.  These brake systems are as close as possible to the factory era correct design.. they are additionally IMPORTANTLY .. matched with the same specs GM engineers spent untold amount of time perfecting. The Master cylinder for example.. is not something off a HOLDEN or Ford  or something chrome out of China off ebay...etc.. its a service duplicate of a cast iron bore and stroke original.  Some carry  GM casting numbers.. and come in bling or cast. The booster is the same.. down to some of them if wanted having the GM Delco stamping ..they are more conveniently now provided in a stainless bling finish or black or copper type colour...  AND depending on what your building.. or how much room you have around the RH or LH drive engine bay.. how big say the valve covers are ie on a BIG BLOCK.. if you need a longer but narrower booster.. say from 11 inch to 9 or maybe 8.. this can be done with a DOUBLE Diaphram booster usually at no more cost.. giving a lot of vacuum reserve in a narrower booster. This can be done here. Calipers.. You hear people say they have .. I don't know.. calipers with 500 pistons of something.. alloy ones with red racing strips on the etc.. connected to a master THEY HOPE actually has the fluid volume to fill these calipers under pressure.  Sure they look good and if engineered by say Holden or Chevy with all the calipers, hose bore sized, booster, prop or limiting valves and calipers and rear brakes all engineered and tested  and that entire set up is on your car that the manufacturer put on their car entirely.. and with thousands of hours work involved..approved.. GREAT.   Otherwise its  a mongrel - be SO carefull. Calipers supplied are again GM Duplicate.. good size common enough pads.. bigger then say HQ.. built for about 16 years of GM late 60's to mid 80's cars..it was made to work with the master and proportioning valve supplied when you get the kit.. as are the hose's bore size. Rotors.. your getting GM service duplicate parts.. some if chosen are Slotted and drilled for a bit more grip under pressure.. but are again.. same design as factory.     In the end..the last thing you want is crook brakes.... trial and errors in brakes..urrr.. don't always end well.  Disc brakes at least on the front are way more service friendly .. easier to drive with then drums. Just keep respect for the time GM and other auto manufacturers have put into making a system compatible.      This is what we supply.  …

     Just for a general insight....  This really only concerns Bigger panels, bonnets, doors.. mainly external / dress panels.   NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER.. sign for a parcel like this .. without either inspecting the goods for damage first. or if not time suitable.. sign it subject to inspection.. and inspect within 24 hrs.. and keep all packaging.. photograph all or any damage.. A claim will need to go in and will NOT.. NOT.. be accepted by the carrier is signed off .. read the small print on their connotes.. says once signed the liability is over.. thats its.. don't ask us to fix it if your signed for it.. this goes with ANY Carrier in Australia or import.. be carefull.    This is what we call "WOOD CRATE FRAMING".. the  added and needed protection for transporting things likefenders, doors, Roof skins & qtr panels to seriously prevent most damage.     Without it transport companies run a mile & use the lack of super duty packaging as the reason to REFUSE CLAIMS... even when insured.. "Insufficient Packing".. they assess each time they can as the reason for them being able to damage YOUR freight....  they then run a mile ... even  if they run over it with a fork lift..(they did to us years back and left tread marks on the panel. )  they will try the  "Insufficient Packaging" trick..... (True ... its happened to us.. & they try it on every chance they can...hence no excuses with our stuff..!.)   We pack things fairly heavily normally.... as many customers know & probably  get to appreciate even though its a PITA sometimes to unwrap....... we also  black wrap cartons of all sizes... for reasons of transit security..ie theft if they can't see the contents its less likely to be nicked.  That's all taken care of every day as part of our dispatching service.... but big panels.. they need extra help.. don't kid yourself parts, especially larger part like panels... don't always simply make it from the US perfect every time either.. but we pack our own airfreight pallets too in the USA.. .. .... like this Hood below or the 1/4 skins long thinner image box.     To make up a larger crate.. we do the work at cost around $120 for the 2.5 - 3 hrs it takes to custom crate up and include the average of 32 mtrs of timber & Plywood etc..That's just the boxing etc.. not the freight.. which is dependent on your location as you can appreciate.  (You can avoid this by having your own freighter pickup the panels and work with them for any handling damage etc.)    Yes it costs extra.., and it should NOT be necessary .. but most Australian transport handlers have NO responsiblity or ethics when it comes to freight loss or damage.. they simply pass the buck and don't give a rats....and it's frustrating.. but so are wrecked new panels.  It also makes transport more expensive but so are repairs to brand new panels or wrecked panels, including when you personally import them from the USA and freight companies "dump it and run" or claims of "we received it like that.. not our fault.. now pay..!"    We offer this to help the end result be a good one.          …

    For nearly 30 years on & off we have been serving guys & ladies in many many ways.. long before the internet.. when human contact &  letter writing was still possible, when cops had to catch you to check your rego, petrol was affordable, a text was what was in a book & a FM capable radio had not yet  become standard equipment in most cars...& the government did not lie to its people... as much.. as now.... .. but even in THOSE days parts were not easy to find all the time.... when we provided personally undertaken 2 or 3 times a year the "US Junk Yard Parts Hunting" runs we had varying success .... hard trips that would take 2-4 weeks to cover 50-70 major US California & Nevada wrecking yards.. self service yards.. where you take your own tools, don't ask for help, lug your own parts out.. and there were plenty of wrecks from the 60's & 70's....Sounds like a Guys Own Adventure.... maybe listening to the Beach boys as you cruised the highways between yards... but it really was pretty hard, all weather, on the lookout for rattlers - both the "two legged type" ...and the slimy ones lower to the ground..... & things like infestations of black widow spiders hidden in cars your combing though, often in the shadow of reclaimed chemical fall out zones .......  ... EVEN THEN early El Camino donor vehicles were pretty  RARE TO FIND.. I recall with a smile in the back of my mind THOSE DAYS of plenty of early 70's stuff .. and .. this might sound stupid to many people today.. but the excitement of finding a really good 1959-66 anything Chevy or Pontiac.. and an El Camino in good order would be the icing on the cake... but life goes on..     While we don't have a huge  El Camino (aka GMC Sprint) population in Australia (we have our utes).... as a supplier we've still quietly serviced the non-mainline restorers over the years...  and now we'll make a new supply route  for the US utes parts...  In the coming months we'll develop  the El Camino listings.. some of which is based on obvious needs carefully &  increase current stock & openly price through special availability rather then fantasy stuff..  But we do have more ways to help now then ever ever... in the past, especially for those who regularly use these later model vehicles too...your service parts are already in stock & more to come. ....
