Service Tip: Once filled with oil, place or hold the new A/C Compressor with the front seal facing down for 1-3 minutes. This will help coat the seal with oil - if this seal is not lubricated before installation, refrigerant may leak.
This compressor is for 1985 Camaro or Firebird with 5speed manual "H" code engines.
- 5.4" DIA PULLEY - R4 - w/CLU - 4-SPD A/TRANS (MD8)
The Key here is to identify the CLUTCH width.. it is 5.40 inch.
- THIS UNIT IS THE 5.40" width Clutch.. measure it.. don't guess..
- This unit was used on MANUAL 5 speed vehicles.
- This unit was for cars with the engine code of "H" as the 8th letter of the Vin Code. ...
SO.. if you have a Automatic Camaro or Firebird Carby V8 - this should NOT be the compressor.

COMPRESSORS are the # 1 Claim we have. .. we HATE supplying them.. .and its due to ALL THE OTHER fault issues that can arise like hi and low pressure switchs on working.. = blown compressor.. Gas irregular.. = Blown compressor.. Wrong or Low oil..= Blown Compressor.. .. Crap in the System = Blown Compressor.. Novice fits the new compressor up .. puts belt on. runds dry..
