Many 60's cars did NOT have gauges but has a warning light around the speedo someplace for alerts on temperature overheating.
This was intensified by screwing the screw seen on the top.. up or down depending on what temp was wanted the alert to.
Single wire sensor... as shown.
Commonly found in 61-72 GM Vehicles.
