This is a large early series rear pinion seal .
For local interest it seems to have been the main one found on early 60's full size Aussie Pontiac and Chevy's. NOTING that the locally assembled Holden Impala, Belair, Laurentian, Parisienne's... used the Chevy diff... unlike the US Pontiacs and some US Chevy's.
