Things to check on RHD cars particularly...

  •   Often people jack up the front..mistakenly  right at the RADIATOR and of course stuff it very quickly.. so be carefull....jack  the center evenly under the cross member or better still use the jack point under each side as shown in the Service Manual. NEVER remove wheels with just a jack supporting the car.
  •    When checking for play in the front suspension on third gens ..(82-92F) .. looking for loose or warn bits..remember the pitman arm.. the arm coming form the steering box. .is not a wearing part.. it has no ball joints - just two holes... one for the drag link and one for the steering box.
  •    On RHD cars.. over the years the bolts holding the steering box to the frame can work loose... or more likely if insufficent gusseting of the frame rail was not done during conversion to RHD.. the bolts will pull agains the frame and cause the steering box to loosen...just check it.  If unsure or you don't have the repeatative knowledge be smarter and have a qualified front end person check it out.
